Trivia[]
- He's one of the two Japanese male characters in the series thus far, the other being Sid.
- He only speaks Japanese.
- He's one of three Alpine boarders in the series altogether. The other two are Brodi and Marisol.
- He is the only snowboarder who specializes in using alpine boards in the first game, SSX (2000).
- He was replaced in the next game, SSX Tricky, by Brodi.
- In SSX (2000), both Hiro and JP have a freestyle-type snowboard that has the same name, Magnate Split. The art on each board though is different.
- Hiro's trick book in SSX (2000) is IMMENSELY flawed. The names above do not at all match with the pictures and the button combinations to execute a trick entry in question. With completing Hiro's trick book, follow the button combinations and pictures, NOT the names!
- For example, one entry in Hiro's trick book tells you to perform a '540 Canadian Bacon', but in actuality, you're supposed to perform a '180 MADE IN Japan'; the picture in this entry will show Hiro doing the tweaked trick 'MADE IN Japan' and the button combination will be '[<- or -> 180] L2 R2 □". What's even more messed up about this entry in particular is that Hiro cannot even perform a Canadian Bacon with an alpine board!
- In SSX 3 when playing as Hiro, oddly his snowboard he uses (Absolute Zero) is awkwardly reversed in design graphic wise, which also implies to Jurgen as well.
