Medals are awarded to players who complete a certain objective (position, score, etc.) and are prevalent in all SSX games. There has always been three medals, with the exception of SSX 3 that has four medals.

- Platinum (SSX 3 & On Tour only)
- Gold
- Silver
- Bronze
In SSX 3, you get a platinum medal by reaching or beating a certain score (Slopestyle, Big Air, Super Pipe), or by reaching the finish line in less than a certain time (Race). In SSX On Tour, you have to beat the preset record in a competition, and still come in first.
